Paper Plate Masks
Create these cute fun masks – a great start to a Halloween costume and perfect for little kids who may not like to wear face paint or masks.
What You’ll Need:
*Bingo daubers or paint
*Yarn, cotton balls, google eyes, etc.
*There are obviously many ways to create these masks. We’ll provide instructions for creating the looks we have pictured here, but you should feel free to use various craft materials and your imagination to create other looks – and don’t forget to email your pictures to us! email@example.com.
*Bingo daubers come in many colors and are often readily available at the dollar store or craft stores. We find them much easier than paint because they dry faster, don’t make quite so much of a mess, and little kids can easily hold the thick base. If you don’t have them, just use paint instead.
*For the Face Paper Plate Mask, pictured below: We glued on yarn for the hair, cotton balls for the ears, and google eyes for the eyes. We cut one-inch pieces of yarn to use for eye lashes. We used a bingo dauber for the nose and mouth. Tape the popsicle stick to the back of the plate.
*For the Flower Paper Plate Mask, pictured below: We used construction paper to make the petals. We used a yellow bingo dauber to “paint” the face yellow, then a red dauber for the eyes, nose, and mouth.Tape the popsicle stick to the back of the plate.
*For the Tiger Paper Plate Mask, pictured below: We used an orange bingo dauber to “paint” the face orange. Then we used a black dauber to make the stripes. We glued on google eyes and cut yarn for the whiskers and mouth. We cut triangles out of construction paper for the ears and nose. Tape the popsicle stick to the back of the plate.
*For the Sun Paper Plate Mask, pictured below: We used a yellow bingo dauber to “paint” the face yellow. Then we used an orange dauber to make the rays & mouth and a green one for eyes and nose.Tape the popsicle stick to the back of the plate.
*Send us a picture of your masks we may post it to our site! firstname.lastname@example.org.
*More Masks -- for a more involved mask craft, try this post from My Activity Maker – we used these masks for Mardi Gras, but they would work well for Halloween or dress-up any time of year, too.
* Paper Plate UFOs -- another great paper plate craft from My Activity Maker.
